In the last six weeks or so, I have watched the vast majority of my 2020 clients struggle with decisions, and planning a wedding during a completely unknown time. I cannot imagine the level of stress and frustration.
Cassidy & Cameron have stayed positive through this entire process. Honestly, this didn't surprise me much as they have been so incredibly sweet and upbeat since we met them last year. When they asked me if we would be willing to photograph their intimate ceremony while also moving their wedding date to later in the summer, well I said of course!
The sun was shining on this gorgeous May day, what was originally their big celebration turned into an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest loved ones (at 6 foot distances of course). We gathered together at JLH Wedding Barn and prepared to get these two married.
I just loved that Cassidy & Cam treated their day like nothing had changed. Choosing to wear her stunning gown with Cam in his suit, these two were just stunning!
Cassidy chose to share a first look with her dad. These two were so cute, I could tell Dad was trying to cry gracefully!
Down to the ceremony site we went! With the sun shining and cool May breeze, we gathered together to watch these lovebirds say their vows and bind their lives together. Its interesting to see the changes the world has made. Where even two months ago, I despised cell phones at weddings, now I see them as a necessity as so many couples choose to stream their ceremony.
Big receptions aren't possible right now, but I loved that they still shared that first bite of cake together.
These two warm my heart so much!
OK we had to throw in some references to the pandemic that is so changing our lives didn't we?
One last romantic shot in front of the getaway car!
If you love this couple as much as we do, don't worry! They will be featured again in August when they have their big celebration surrounded by friends and family.
What I hope you take away from this blog is that while your big wedding may not be able to happen right now, you do still have options. We as your wedding vendors want to help you as much as we can, but we also want you and your families to be safe. If you do choose a small ceremony, we will come together to make it as perfect as we possibly can.
While the world may be in a state of fear, take comfort in the fact that we as humans have an incredible capacity to love, and to come together in times of fear.
Last but not least, we will NOT let this virus win!
Special thanks to everyone who came together to make the day special for these two!
