The Alexander Hotel Wedding | Indianapolis Wedding Photographer | Palak and Kelly

What better way is there to spend New Years Eve than celebrating a new marriage? We had the blessing of working with Palak & Kelly this year at the stunning Alexander Hotel in Indianapolis, IN.

Our adventure began with an evening in with Kelly and her girls for the Mehndi ceremony. If you aren’t familiar with Mehndi, it is a ritual in the Indian culture. All of the ladies in the bride & grooms families are invited to gather together and keep the bride company during the process. The mehndi work is extremely detailed and in Kelly’s case tied in family members that are no longer with us. The saying goes, the darker the Mehndi, the longer their love will last!

On New Years Eve, the official festivities began and we were treated to a glorious room full of color. The ceremony was so personal and the priest was both entertaining and educating as he went through all the ceremonies. I can tell you that Hindu weddings are steeped in ceremony and there isn't a single moment that is not important.

It wouldn't be New Years Eve without a party would it? Palak & Kelly changed out of their formal ceremony outfits and changed into gorgeous attire to ring in the New Year. Kelly glowed in red and gold. The ballroom was switched over to accommodate the party!

New Years day, the celebration continued with a traditional American ceremony. The day was just as stunning in shades of gold.

The guests were treated to a brunch buffet that was a perfect way to recover from the previous evenings festivities.

I truly enjoyed spending the holiday with Palak & Kelly as well as an amazing team of vendors!
